Job Posting - Clerk Typist I



This is a full-time temporary unionized position which reports directly to the Director of Finance and Administration.


Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration or the A/Chief Administrative Officer, the Clerk Typist I will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support services to the Finance Department.  The Clerk Typist I will also receive and receipt payments, assist the public with information pertaining to tax accounts, and other duties as required.

Candidates must have successfully completed a post-secondary diploma in office administration, with basic accounting and cash handling procedures or equivalent, from a recognized technical school or private college.  Experience, knowledge, and training in a municipal or other professional office environment accompanied with excellent customer service and communication skills would be an asset.  Candidates must have functional knowledge and experience with computerized accounting systems and software programs, including Microsoft Office, for utilization in the day to day duties of the position.

Salary and benefits will be as per CUPE Local 1896 Union Agreement.
