UPDATE - CRESTON BOULEVARD / GREENWOOD STREET AREA WATER SHUT-OFF


As most residents know, the water in your area was restored around 3:00 a.m. this morning, which was later than anticipated.

We would like to thank the crew of Mallay's Industrial Services Ltd. who worked for 21 hours yesterday to ensure all necessary repairs were done in one day so that the water did not have to be shut off for a second day. The workers replaced three valves and upgraded the water and sewer lines in the area to mitigate future issues, especially during winter months. They also replaced a large sewer manhole that was 6 meters deep, which was connected to four roads and necessitated the water being shut off so early in order to work with the tide.

We realize the long water shut-off was an inconvenience but we are now happy to report to all residents who were affected that a large portion of the water and sewer system was upgraded and work is pending on the remainder.

As work continues, it's possible that the water may need to be shut off in certain sections for short periods of time. Should that happen, you will be advised. It's likely that you will notice discolouration in your water. If you have an outside tap, please run it until the water clears. If not, you should run the cold water tap inside your house.
