News ArticlesThank you to our Firefighters!
The Town of Marystown would like to say a HUGE thank you to our volunteer firefighters at the Marystown Volunteer Fire Department for everything they do to keep our residents and our town protected.
In 2016, our thirty volunteers recorded a total of 8,954 volunteer hours - that's an average of 6 hours per firefighter per week for 52 weeks! Those hours were spent attending drill meetings, training, being on call (weekend duty), responding to call-outs and participating in community programs/events such as the breakfast program.
We are extremely proud and thankful to have such an exceptional team of firefighters who are so giving of their time. They respond to calls at all hours of the day or night, they give up their weekends and holidays and they sometimes miss out on family events.
We invite all residents to join us as we say a heartfelt "Thank You" to our firefighters and of course, their families!
